Shots, Shots, Shots

We did the first injection of Lupron this morning. I cleaned up an area in the kitchen, got all of the materials ready, and then woke up hubby at about 8:45 a.m. My babymaker handbook said we should do the shot between 6:00 and 9:00 a.m. Usually we get going in the morning around 6:30, but weekends are for sleeping in. So hubby took a few minutes to wake up, and then came into the kitchen singing, “Shots, shots, shots…” And I did a little dance. If you’re not familiar, this is a real song that’s big at the bars/clubs right now. It’s super classy. This is pretty much what the scene looked like in our kitchen this morning:

Anyway, hubby sucked 20 units of Lupron from the vial into the syringe and was ready to stab me with it before I could even alcohol swab the area and pinch the skin on my belly. If he had any nerves at all about doing it for the first time, it didn’t show. And that really put me at ease. He stuck the needle in and I barely felt anything. It’s a teeny-tiny 1/2 inch needle. As he injected the Lupron, it felt a little warm and achy. And afterward it was red with a little itchy mosquito bite that lasted for about a half hour. Nooo big deal.

We are sitting here giggling…..the image of you two and several bikini clad women dancing around in your kitchen is too much to handle! Can we join the party next time? B just got a new grill he wants to try out.
